Last friday we finally went out for dinner (MFJ and I, that is....) after 1 year. what? You don't know why? don't you remember that we live in the Netherlands and the rest of the relatives is either in Italy or on the other side of the world? "there are friends", I know...but you see: MFSJ didn't sleep, AT ALL and we really didn't want to ruin a friendship with screams that would have made Hitchcock proud or tears that would have flooded the house. I know what you'll say next: "babysitter"...well, I have my Italian Mother Heart to blame for this (well, let's not forget the father's one here: just as bad, even if he's not italian!!!)

For all of you seriously concerned about our wellbeing, here's the good news: MFSJ sleeps (ehm, mostly every night) since she was 20 months old (woohoo!) and, more important, goes to bed at a decent time.
More good news: there is ANOTHER hero, apart from Totoro, which can, in case of emergency, buy you an additional 90 minutes of peace. The new hero is nothing less that the "terrible" toddler in Monsters Inc. (see any similarities here? MFSJ loves the fact that Boo has pigtails, and she has a lot of fun trying to scare us saying "boo" behind our backs...P.J.O'Sullivan, the big blue top-scarer monster, gets a new name from MFSJ: he is now known as "cookie-monster"...I guess 'cause it's blue like the character in Sesame Street)

Anyway: with two DVDs in her hand (Totoro and "Boo"), the promise that she could stay up as long as she wanted, and Mufi (aka my BIL, Brother in Law) at her total disposal, MFSJ was left at home, and MFJ and I went out for dinner...we went to a fantastic Korean restaurant...but THAT will be for another, special, post.


Venerdi' scorso siamo andati fuori a cena...non succedeva da un anno! Perche'? Come perche'? Non ve lo ricordate che abitiamo in Olanda mentre il resto dei parenti sta in Italia o dall'altra parte del pianeta? "ci sono gli amici", direte voi...beh, la piccola non dormiva...e non ci volevamo rovinare le nostre poche amicizie torturando il malcapitato con strilli alla Hitchcock e pianti sfrenati. "babysitter" direte voi...non avete tutti i torti, ma qui il "core de mamma" all'Italiana ha avuto la meglio (senza contare il cuore nipponico del papa', che non e' da meno!!!).

Per tutti voi seriamente preoccupati della nostra salute mentale, ecco la novita': da quando ha raggiunto la veneranda eta' di 20 mesi la MSGP dorme (piu' o meno) e va pure a letto ad un orario decente.
Un'altra bella notizia: la MSGP ha un'altro eroe, oltre a Totoro...il che puo' regalare, all'occorrenza, circa 90 minuti in piu' di tranquillita'! Il nuovo eroe e' la piccola peste di Monsters Inc. ...notate una certa somiglianza? la MSGP adora il fatto che Boo ha i codini come lei e adesso ADORA spaventarci strillando "BUH" alle nostre spalle. Ha anche ribattezzatto P.J..O'sullivan, il mostro in cima alla classifica di spaventi: lo chiama "cookie monster" forse perche' e' blu come il personaggio di Sesame Street.

Con la promessa di poter guardare Totoro o Boo, poter star alzata quanto vuole, ed avere il suo Mufi (MCN, Mio Cognato Nipponico) a totale disposizione, la preziosa peste e' stata lasciata a casa, e mamma e papa' sono andati fuori a cena...ristorante coreano, FANTASTICO!!! Ma questo ve lo raccontero' nella prossima puntata.
