Passate le vacanze estive, eccomi pronta a tamburellare sulla tastiera alla ricerca della parola giusta. Vi avevo promesso un po' di nozioni da agenzia immobiliare olandese...eccovi accontentati!

woning: abitazione
eengezinwoning: abitazione monofamigliare
tussenwoning: una di quelle casette a schiera che non sta alle estremita', nel qual caso di parlerebbe di hoekwoning (abitazione d'angolo)
bovenwoning e benedenwoning : immaginatevi una casa di due piani piu' mansarda e giardino. mettete due porte al piano terra, una ti porta all'appartamento del piano terra, con giardino, l'altra di fa accedere (tramite una ripidissima scala interna) all'appartamento del primo piano che ha pure la mansarda. Insomma: quelli del pian di sotto si cuccano il giardino e una mandria di quadrupedi zoccolati che gli camminano in testa, quelli di sopra guardano il giarino senza poterci mettere piede ma possono zoccolare quello stesso piede e ballarci la samba.
uitbouwen : l'estensione della abitazione...in genere ci finisce la cucina, o il bagno, o entrambi. Molto comune l'osservazione della recidivita' dell'operazione di uitbouwen: non e' insolito trovare l'uitbouw dell'uitbouw dell'uitbouw... ci si ferma solo quando non resta piu' giardino.
dakkapel: e' l'uitbouw per i bovenwoning...visto che non hai giardino, buchi il tetto e raddrizzi il muro in modo da costruire un abbaino...che in alcuni casi raggiunge la larghezza dell'intera casa.
e per ora mi fermo, penso di aver confuso abbastanza le idee (la pronuncia delle parolacce ve la propino un'altra volta).

eengezinwoning: one-family house
tussenwoning: one of those houses in a row, as long as it's not at the end of the row, in which case it's called hoekwoning (corner house)
bovenwoning e benedenwoning : imagine a house on two floors with loft and garden. Place two doors on the ground floor, one takes you to the rooms of that same floor, the other one gives you access to the steeptest of stairs which lead to the apartment on the first floor, the one with the loft. to make it clear: those living on the ground floor benefit from the garden view but get lots of noisy hoofed creatured walking on their heads. Those living on the first floor enjoy the view of the garden in which they can't set foot, but can use that same foot (possibly hoofed, for more immpact) to dance the samba on the heads of those lucky ones;
uitbouwen : extension of the house...generally it accomodates the kitchen, or the bathroom, or both. Very frequently you can observe how recidive the uitbowing operation can be: it's not unusual to see gardens swamped with uitbows of uitbouws of uitbouws...you stop once the garden is totally covered.
dakkapel: it's the uitbouw for the bovenwoning...since you have no garden, you poke a hole in the roof, straighten the walls, and you get a dormer window...which can be as large as the whole house.
And for now I better stop, I think I got you confused enough (and be grateful that I haven't included how to pronounce those swear-like words!)
