Premi speciali

Migliore amico/a?
Miglior collega? ah...trabocchettosa, 'sta nomination!

ricetta migliore? aaaaaah...disastro...ce n'e' troppe...saro' piu' oculata l'anno prossimo

So...two weeks after the Bafta Films awards, here goes the Oscars ceremony.
It's great that people get recognized for their hard work, that us outsiders come to realize once more how complex the making of a film, and a good one, is. it's not "only" actors, you need a good story, good dialogues, a good score (that's music for you and me), costumes, lights, special effects. there's good deal of "behind the scenes", literally, that we never get to see, yet is essential.
Those heart-beats of yours, summoned by the chocolatey-velvety-voice of your favourite actor: would they be the same if the sound quality were crap? you might get a fit of anger, instead, seeing how badly the sound reaches your ears!

It made me think about the forgotten ones...in general. those people that might be in your life and you don't even notice. or not enough...those details you never pay attention to, yet are important.

Let's start with something simple:
Best friend? If you are lucky, you have more than one lurking around...but there's always someone who you felt closer to in this past year...hopefully.
Best neighbor? this one is easy ;-)
Best collegue? tricky, tricky, tricky one...
Best supervisor-superior-whatever? a-ha! this one I know, but I'm not telling ;-)
Best relative? uh...now: I see them once a year! and not even all of them anymore!
Best loved one? it's a tie between MFJ and MFSJ...of course!

and moving onto less-known ground...
Best shopkeeper? There's the butcher at the local grocery store that has special slices of sausage for little hungry stomachs that visit the shop with mommy...sausage at 9am? why not!
Best postman? I have a favourite one, and HE IS NOT THE ONE THAT COMES INTO THE ELEVATOR SMOKING CIGARETTES...you stinky so and sO!
Best doctor? I've seen a few this year...but I'm not done yet, so I'll wait...unless I could vote for Doctor Who and his sonic screwdriver (oh dear...gone a bit too British...)
Best daycare teacher? Do I choose the one my daughter likes or the one I feel more comfortable talking to?
Best waiter? you know...like the one who took special care in choosing the straw for your daughter's apple juice...or the one who said enthusiastically "YES" to your request for "frothy milk only" for said daughter...

and we can even have something a bit less conventional but more personal....
best hobby? I have "blogging", "crocheting" and "reading" as nominees
best recipe? too many nominees...I'll be more careful next year.
best trip? urgh...not sure about this one...can I go back one year more?

maybe if we (I) learnt to look around and take notes while waiting for the big yearly Oscar-ceremony-like thingy, life wouldn't be so grey all the time...Imagine that: going up to your "best waiter" and say "here's your mannequin-statuette for best waiter in my past year"...that would be fun!

so, who's on your red carpet?
